ALiEM is proud to announce the 2016 Call for Award Nominations. We believe in supporting the hard work, creativity, and scholarly output that is enhancing the experience of learners who utilize social media for their medical education. We believe it is important to recognize leaders who excel at innovative, online content creation. Consider nominating yourself or your colleagues!

ALiEM Awards

Most Innovative Blog or Podcast

We wish to recognize a blog or podcast that is shaking up the world of online medical education. In recognition of the diversity of leaders, this award is open to any blog or podcast that is focused upon medical education – regardless of specialty focus. In recognition of the team effort that is required, the award will go to the blog or podcast, not to an individual contributor.

Requirements for Most Innovative Blog or Podcast

  1. Cover letter detailing why the blog or podcast qualifies for the award.
  2. At least 3 examples of blog posts or podcasts that represents it the best.
  3. Document listing the leaders of the blog or podcast and their role.

Best New Blog or Podcast

ALiEM has been in existence since 2009, but since that time, there has been an explosion of content available. In order to recognize the new leaders in the field, we wish to specifically reward contributors to online medical education that have taken up the mantle and launched after January 1, 2015. For this award, we wish to celebrate those blog or podcast teams who are creating content that is used for graduate or undergraduate medical education, regardless of specialty. Similarly as above, this award will go to the blog or podcast.

Most Innovative Educator

This award is the centerpiece and will be awarded to an individual leader who has contributed the most significantly to social media and medical education. We seek out that individual educator that embodies that definition best for this award.
